SmartMAX Piston
The new SmartMAX piston is specially designed for 3 ½” (89 mm) chamber Escort SupremeMAX and Escort XtremeMAX. The SmartMAX piston automatically adjusts the exact & reliable gas pressure needed for a wide range of loads from 7/8 oz (24 gr) shot load to heavy 2 3/8 oz (66 gr) load double magnum shells. When firing light loads almost all of the gases are used to operate the action and only a small portion is exhausted. When firing heaviest magnum & double magnum loads most of the gases are exhausted and only a portion of the gases are used to operate the action. Escort’s patented SmartMAX piston automatically self adjusts this reliably even if you mix different size & weight shot shells in the magazine and allows the shooter to fire any 12 gauge load in seconds. Also, thanks to the SmartMAX Piston, most of the recoil is eliminated before it reaches your shoulder giving shooting conformance, reduced barrel rise and faster swing on targets.
When firing heaviest magnum & double magnum shells; excess gas pressure opens the front valve of the SmartMAX piston and excessive gas pressure is exhausted. SmartMAX piston automatically self adjusts the necessary gas pressure needed to operate the action and the excess gases exhaust upwards from the sides of the forend. As the majority of the excess gas pressure is absorbed due to SmartMAX Piston, most of the recoil is eliminated before reaching your shoulder and other inner parts of the shotgun are protected against high pressure impacts.
When firing light loads; almost all of the gas pressure is used to operate the action and only a small portion is exhausted. Because the gas pressure is relatively smaller in light loads, the gas pressure cannot open the front valve of the SmartMAX piston. Hence only a small portion is exhausted and the majority is used to operate the action.
Stock Length of Pull Spacers
Three stock length of pull spacers that fit between stock and recoil pad are standard. The stock length of pull can be extended by increments of 5mm (1/5”) by simply inserting one or more of these spacers. With these spacers any shooter can perfectly fit the stock length of pull which provides easier shouldering of the shotgun, faster swing on targets and less felt recoil.
Stock Drop & Cast Adjustment Shims
3 stock cast shims and 1 stock drop shim. Any shooter can adjust the stock drop & stock cast perfectly fitting himself and his shooting style by simply inserting one or more of the four special shims between the receiver and stock.
Escort Fast Loading System
Escort Fast Loading System enables faster and easier loading into the magazine with one hand in the reliable double bar system. Escort’s patented Fast Loading System provides faster loading of shot shells into the magazine without changing the aiming position. It also unlocks the bolt which is locked at the rear. Both the carrier and fast loading button are hard chrome plated for longer life and maximum corrosion resistance. Fast Loading System is standard on all Escort semi auto shotguns.
Magazine Cut-Off
By pressing this button, you can retain shells in the magazine and can eject a shell from the chamber without feeding another one from the magazine.
The receivers are made of aluminum alloy (Ergal) material which is very light in weight but very resistant against high pressures. The black anodize plating on the receiver not only gives extra durability but also provides a life-time coating. Glossy or matt finish receivers are available.
The bolts of all Escorts are made of nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel and are hard chrome plated for longer life, less friction and maximum corrosion resistance.
3 1/2” - 89 mm double magnum chamber which can handle all 12 gauge loads in a single shotgun.
The nickel-chromium-molybdenum steel barrels are standard for all Escorts. Hard white chrome plated bore and chamber provides maximum durability for any kind of shot shells including steel or tungsten shot; and provides maximum corrosion resistance, besides it is easier to clean.
Outside of the barrel is hard chrome plated again providing life-time maximum corrosion resistance. Barrels are available in matt or glossy finish.
Escort Choke Tubes
All Escort shotguns (except for slug barrels) come with 5 mobile chokes: Full (F), Improved Modified (IM), Modified (M), Improved Cylinder (IC) and Cylinder (CYL). Extra full choke is available upon request. M, IC and CYL choke tubes are good for steel shots.
